Money by Afterpay has come to an end.
The Money by Afterpay app has now closed.
We launched Money to help you know and feel money like never before. And while we will continue to play a role in changing the culture of personal finance for the better, our new relationship with Block means our focus is shifting in a new direction.
As of 10 October, 2022, Money by Afterpay has come to an end.
We are humbled to have helped people on their money journey and connect with money stories like yours.
If I have an outstanding query, who can I reach out to for support?
What do I do with my physical Money debit card?
Now that your Money by Afterpay account is closed, we recommend you dispose of your physical card by cutting it up.
If you've linked your Money debit card as a payment method in Afterpay, you will need to remove your Money card from your Afterpay Buy Now Pay Later account in the Afterpay app. For existing orders, make sure you have another card on file to avoid failed repayments. Make sure you also update any other recurring card payments or direct debits you have set up.
Remove your digital card from your Apple wallet.
How does the closure of Money by Afterpay impact my Afterpay account?
The closure of the Money by Afterpay app will not impact your Afterpay Buy Now Pay Later app and/or account.
However, if you have linked your Money debit card as a repayment method in your Afterpay BNPL account, you will need to go into the Afterpay app and update this by adding a new card.
What happens if I didn’t transfer my funds by 10 October?
If you missed the 10 October deadline to transfer your funds using the Money by Afterpay app, we will be returning funds to customers via a cheque where their total balances are $2 or greater. For customers with balances under $2, these funds will be donated to charity, however you can contact us if you would like the amount owing returned to you.
Please allow time for cheques to be processed and posted to the address held on your account on 10 October. Please contact [email protected] if your address has changed. If you have any questions or if you haven't received a cheque by 1st December 2022, you can contact [email protected] .
